Michael Jackson, Thank You for the Music
On Thursday 25th June 2009 at approx. 2.36pm LA time, the world lost a legend. Michael Jackson, the undisputed King of Pop has died. After going into full cardiac arrest at his LA home, Jackson was taken to UCLA hospital where doctors were unable to revive the singer after an hour of performing CPR. On the morning following the shocking news that will change the face of music forever, we invite you to share your memories of Michael Jackson and his music as we celebrate the legacy of the King of the Pop.

MOBO Founder/CEO reflects on the impact Michael Jackson had on today's music industry
As the news broke that Michael Jackson, King of Pop, had tragically passed away, Kanya King, CEO and Founder of the MOBO Awards was just touching down in LA to attend the annual BET Awards. An event which will be attended by stars from all over the world, many of whom, perhaps, would not have achieved the same level of success had it not been for the influence of Michael Jackson. Jackson broke many barriers during the course of his music career; he was the first black musician to have a music video heavily rotated on MTV. As such, he has opened doors and become the stimulus for many of the urban artists we see in the charts today. Artists, such as Usher and Chris Brown, who often cite Jackson as their inspiration and mentor.
King commented: “This is a massive loss for the music industry, that cannot be understated. And although we have lost the King of Pop, his music lives on not only in the heart of his millions of fans worldwide, a fanbase built up during a career spanning four decades, but also in the music of his contemporaries and everyone who has come after him. Those who often imitated but never bettered his extraordinary achievements.
“The full scale of his legacy to music will only be truly recognised once the world has absorbed the news and people look back on all of his many accomplishments. He was a born entertainer and a consummate showman. He always put 110% into all of his performances, which legions of people were looking forward to witnessing during his comeback tour, due to start on the 13th July. It is dreadfully sad that he never got that second chance to show the world that there really was only ONE Michael Jackson - a genius, an icon and a true phenomenon; the kind that only comes along once in a lifetime.”

wow..im still in shock about it...
i was out when i first heard, and it deeply affected me, people were like 'why, its only mj', but as a music enthusiast, i know what this means for the industry.
I liken it very much to princess diana and elvis- people were so affected by these deaths, as am I over michaels...
as i find kanya king an inspiration, i found jackson a huge inspiration too...he was practically the last of the living legends...
i hope very much that conspiracy stories are true...as unbelieveable they are,you can only hope that mj and tupac are chilling in a remote part of the country alive and well,
this is going to be one of those moments like it was with tupac where people are going to ask each other where they were when they found out...
he will be so missed, i think of my self selfish when i think of how much i will miss him, i cannot imagine what the family are going through...
a misunderstood guy, but still, the biggest legend that will b in my lifetime.

Since i've been alive Michael Jackson has been the ultimate performer, he strived to be the best and most incredible creation in entertainment and he succeded, he inspired me to be an artist and i would not have had the wonderful life and lived a dream without having him as such a powerful insperation. His legacy will live on through every entertainer as his dedication to music, video, songwriting, perforning, vision, skill, dance, art, compassion will never be surpassed or forgotten. He was a man of heart who struggled to be understood, he was the ultimate individual. I'm too young to have grown up with Michael Jackson, but because of how great his songs are I know all the lyrics :). I was really shocked at the news*what a surprise*. A true legend, and legends live on. He will never be forgotten.
My thoughts are with his family *especially his children*,friends and fans.

Micheal Jackson is and will always be the world’s most prominent and “influential” ambassador for promoting a world that is free from ethnic discrimination, free from prejudice, free from hate...and this through his “unique” brand of music. He preached love, colour, peace and used his incredible talent, energy and imagination to brighten up and inspire the millions of his fans that are spread to the four corners of the earth. He "is" a true star and will keep shining in the eternity of space for as long as those values are remembered and celebrated .I wish his family my sincerest condolences’ and pray that they will be given the privacy to mourn their loss. In Africa the death of popular, prominent, influential figure is “celebrated” not mourned and I will be doing my “Best” to spread MICHAEL JACKSON’S legacy of love, style, and funk.

"A person, esp. a child or young person, having extraordinary talent or ability: a musical prodigy".. In my estimation, thus was the late Michael Jackson. He will reign supreme,for his natural ability to sing and dance,which captivated the hearts of millions world wide. He envoked, joy, ecstasy, and so many other different emotions, to people of all ages, colour and creed. He will live on in the legacy which he has contributed, for the short span of his time on this earth. He deserved great homage in life, as in death. Michael Jackson, well deserved the title, 'King Of Pop.' May you rest in peace.

I do think it's about time the music industry has MOWO (Music Of WHITE Origin Awards)......
Finally, Jamie Foxx, who is now in the eyes of many a pathetic, unintelligible, racist.
His disgraceful comments at the awards ceremony in memory of Michael Jackson, confirmed Jamie Foxxes true beliefs, that is, his one-sided views on the origin of colour.
My only hope is, that his future record and movie sales reflect on his passing words.
