Michael Jackson’s CV is littered with examples of ‘firsts’ within black entertainment and, more importantly, within black development within mainstream culture. As such, he has opened doors and become the stimulus for many of the urban artists we see in the charts today. Following his tragic death, former MOBO nominees, winners and ambassadors have been speaking to www.mobo.com to talk about the influence the man and the music had on British artists.

Michael Jackson, this is it. Watching the memorial concert on Tuesday evening, shown on TV all over the world made me shade tears for this young man, father, son, brother, and cousin who dominated the musical world for more four decades. Michael Jackson was remembered and his legacy was celebrated by the old and the young all over the world. Though Michael died young, he achieved his purpose on earth. The sad thing about him is that death did not allow his children to enjoy his company as they grow up. The children are blessed and God will protect them as they grow up to learn about the impact their father made on the lives of many. There is no need to carry on crying now. He has died and may be buried. Michael Jackson's legacy is a challenge to all black people in the world to try and be the best in every thing you set out to do in your life time. Michael Jackson was the only man who lived in two worlds as a black man and as a white man. He entertained both worlds and was accepted as the greatest in the musical and entertainment industry. May God continue to bless you Michael wherever you may be. Rest in perfect peace. You are the mirrow of greatness.
