SNEAK PREVIEW
Last year’s X Factor winner Alexandra Burke may still be pinching herself. According to NowMagazine.co.uk, the UK songstress started work on her much anticipated solo debut last week in LA and previewed her material to her idol Beyonce. The Daily Records quoted Burke as saying ‘Oh my God. I just met Beyoncé again! And this time I didn’t cry. She listened to my songs. My heart is racing’.
 

IT’S THEIR REALITY
When you think of Mary J Blige and Monica you can see some of the comparisons – i.e. they sing from the heart, you can feel their pain through their lyrics and they both seem like some down to earth chicks. Well both Divas’ now have another thing in common; they have both landed reality shows that will air on Black Entertainment Television (BET). The Hollywood Treatment will feature MJB and some young ladies aged 18-26 from Mary’s hometown of Yonkers – the show will also combine her Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now Organization. Monica: Still Standing is due to air later this year on the channel.
 

TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT
UK’s finest Dizzee Rascal has revealed plans for his upcoming UK tour. According to RWD, the tour is all set to take place this autumn after the release of Dizzee’s new album Tongue N Cheek in September. His first night will kick off at the Newcastle O2 Academy on October 6th and will finish up at the Brighton Dome on October 27th. But that’s not all; the site has also informed its daily readers that the MC has been snatched up to play at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

There is just no stopping Mrs Carter. This weekend saw Beyonce’s new film Obsessed hit the box office and rake in amazing numbers. According to BrownSista.com, B’s movie surpassed all expectations and grossed a whopping $28.5 million dollars at the US Box Office – taking in more money than any other film that was released at the same time!
