1) GOING STATESIDE
MOBO Award winner Jamelia is yet another UK star that will be packing her bags and moving to the US to catch a break. 3AM is reporting that the songstress is preparing for a move to the States next year where she will record her fourth album. We last heard from Jamelia in September 2007 when she released her greatest hits compilation, Superstar: The Hits.
3) THE FUTURE OF RAP..?
Florida rapper Plies has been declared by Vibe Magazine as ‘the future of rap’. The Bust It Baby rapper will feature on the front cover of the magazines December issue and is currently working on his third album which is entitled Da REAList and will be released on December 16th through Slip-n-Slide/Atlantic Records.
4) GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIME
Soul icon, Aretha Franklin has been named the Greatest Singer of All Time by Rolling Stone Magazine. Franklin blew the roof off of a poll, which was conducted by the publication, and stormed to the top spot. In a statement on RollingStone.com, they said of Aretha ‘You know a force from heaven. You know something that God made. And Aretha is a gift from God. When it comes to expressing yourself through song, there is no one who can touch her. She is the reason why women want to sing’. The full list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time will be published in the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone which is due out on November 14th.
5) PUSHED BACK
According to HollyScoop.com, Eminem’s 6th studio album, Relapse, has been pushed back. A source has been quoted as saying ‘Eminem has been through a lot. He is being a perfectionist and is completely obsessive-compulsive about this album. There's a 50-50 chance it will be done by the end of this year - but most likely it'll be the first quarter of next year. There was never a release date set’. Looks like fans will have to wait!!
